School in Kulsary left without a head

Submitted by Вера Александрова on

Built as part of a state programme, the school in the city of Kulsary, Zhyloi District, Atyrau Region, has been left without an owner.

According to the Instagram page ztb_kz, the educational institution was put into operation in 2009, but the building now stands empty and is falling apart before our eyes.

The reason why the school building is sitting idle has not been disclosed. Meanwhile, the editorial team of FBRK has sent an official request to the regional administration in hopes of finding out what exactly happened to the school.

It is worth recalling that in May, people in the city of Kulsary took to the streets in protest. Around 300 people pitched tents and spent the night near the district administration building. The residents demanded compensation of 400,000 tenge for each square metre of their homes flooded during the period of high water, instead of the 240,000 tenge promised by the government.

Six days later, the protest ended. The demonstrators stated that they had decided to conclude it because they feared provocations and the politicisation of the rally.
