The prosecutor's office of the Mangystau region has obtained a recalculation for 10,000 utility consumers.
According to the department's press service, residents of Aktau widely complained about the cold in their apartments, which led to dissatisfaction with the heating bills they received.
"During the analysis, the prosecutor's office of Aktau city established that heating charges were made without considering the actual quality of the services provided, which resulted in unjustified amounts on the bills", the statement said.
As a result, a recalculation for heating was carried out for 10,000 consumers totalling over 22 million tenge.
It is worth recalling that in November last year, residents of Petropavlovsk complained about inflated bills for heating and electricity. According to them, utility prices in the region had jumped by 20% at that time.
Incidentally, in February of this year, it was reported that residents of Kazakhstan spend an average of 28,600 tenge per month on basic utilities for a home with an area of 80 m², which is significantly higher than the figures in neighbouring countries.
