In the inter-district criminal court of Shymkent, a criminal case was heard against a local resident who drove a police officer on the bonnet of his car.

According to the press service of the department, he was charged under Article 380, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (use of violence dangerous to life or health against a representative of the authorities in connection with the performance of their official duties).

As the investigation established, in January a patrol police officer stopped a Shymkent resident who was driving a car.

After a brief conversation, the patrol officer warned the driver that a report would be filed for driving through a red traffic light, but the citizen got into the car and tried to drive away.

The police officer blocked his path and fell onto the bonnet of the car; despite this, the accused drove him some distance on the bonnet.

As later became known, the person involved in the case committed the crime while under the influence of drugs. Ultimately, the court found the driver guilty and sentenced him to 7 years in prison.
