In the city of Ridder, East Kazakhstan region, a local police inspector, during a chase after motorcyclists driving without licences, himself violated traffic rules and caused a collision.

According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", the incident occurred on August 16. It is reported that the police officer, driving a patrol car, attempted to block the path of the offenders by driving towards them and crossing a solid line. As a result, he hit one of the three motorcyclists.

The East Kazakhstan region police department clarified that the speed of the patrol car was low, therefore the motorcyclist was not injured.

The department also reported that the motorcyclists were brought to administrative responsibility for driving without a licence and violating manoeuvring rules.

In turn, the police officer faced consequences for violating traffic rules. An internal investigation was launched against him, which is expected to assess the legality of his actions.

It is worth recalling that in April of last year, a video circulated online showing a patrol car hitting a moped rider. It was reported that after the collision, the moped rider refused medical assistance, and the police officer was held accountable.

In July, in the Aktobe region, a police officer, while driving under the influence of alcohol, hit a married couple. Both the husband and wife died. It was reported that initially, the officer tried to flee the scene of the accident, but later surrendered.

In July of this year, in Almaty, a moped rider deliberately hit a police officer while trying to escape pursuit. The court sentenced him to 10 days of administrative arrest.
