Over 1,700 domestic birds have died in a month in the Pavlodar region.

From 3 September to 1 October, mass poultry deaths were recorded in five districts of Pavlodar region. According to official data, 1,713 birds died.

As reported by the media, the greatest losses were in Terenkol district — 863 birds. In Shcherbakty district, 442 cases were recorded, in Zhelezinsky district — 311, in Aktogay district — 57, and in Irtysh district — 40.

The deputy head of the regional veterinary department, Galym Beisenov, reported that samples from the dead birds were taken and sent to the National Reference Centre for Veterinary Medicine in Astana. Tests were carried out for highly pathogenic avian influenza, Newcastle disease, pasteurellosis and salmonellosis.

According to the results of the analyses from 12 September, the presence of these diseases was not confirmed. Additional samples have now been sent to the centre for further testing.
