Schools in the Zhaksyn District of the Akmola Region were short-delivered coal worth 52 million tenge.
According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, agency employees had to intervene to prevent the disruption of the heating season in educational institutions.
“In April of this year, the state agency entered into a contract with a supplier for the purchase of 8,000 tonnes of coal worth 140 million tenge. However, the state agency signed off on work worth 52 million tenge despite the contractor failing to fulfil its obligations”, the statement reads.
Following a supervisory order, those responsible were dismissed from their posts, and the contractor fulfilled the contract in full.
As a reminder, in April, following complaints from residents of Shakhtinsk about cold apartments, the local thermal power plant was fined around 400,000 tenge for disrupting the heating season.
