The Interdistrict Criminal Court of Shymkent has announced the sentence of the acting head of the department of the committee for labour and social protection, D. Begalayeva. Alongside her in the dock was a nurse from City Polyclinic No. 12, G. Irbayeva.
According to the press service of Anticor, Begalayeva was found guilty of receiving bribes totalling 500,000 tenge from parents of children with disabilities in exchange for approving disability groups, and Irbayeva was found guilty of acting as an intermediary in bribery.
The court imposed a fine of 23.3 million tenge on Begalayeva, and 10 million tenge on Irbayeva.
Meanwhile, in Atyrau, the sentence was announced for the head of a sector of the city education department, M. Seitkaliyeva, and employees of a local school.
It emerged that three teachers passed bribes totalling 150,000 tenge to Seitkaliyeva through the acting director, A. Koishygulova. The bribe was intended for the approval of the 'expert' category.
The court sentenced the defendants to fines ranging from 1.4 million to 4.5 million tenge. The convicted individuals were also banned for life from holding positions in the civil service and in entities of the quasi-public sector.
As a reminder, the completion of the pre-trial investigation by Anticor of Shymkent in relation to Begalayeva was reported in December 2024. At the time, it was stated that she was accused of receiving bribes totalling 850,000 tenge.
