Cyberpolice officers from the police department of the East Kazakhstan region have uncovered a network of fraudsters in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Three suspects are under investigation.
According to Polisia.kz, law enforcement officers seized 22 SIM-box devices from their place of residence, in which 489 SIM cards from mobile operators were installed. The police also discovered 452 USB internet modems, 13 computers, 4 routers and one laptop.

For reference: a SIM-box is a device used to store and operate a large number of SIM cards. It can handle up to 60 calls simultaneously, as well as send up to 600 messages per hour.
At the same time, a foreign citizen was detained in Karaganda, from whom a 128-slot SIM-box device, around two thousand SIM cards, two routers and a signal booster were seized. All individuals involved were placed in a temporary detention facility.
It is worth recalling that in November last year, a criminal group engaged in internet fraud within the country was detained in the West Kazakhstan region.
During a search, 16 mobile phones, several used SIM cards, a router and cash were seized from the suspects.
