The chief financial officer of the company FlyDubai in Kazakhstan, Al-Beine Zaripova, has been killed in Almaty. The tragedy occurred at the end of January, but it has only become known now.
According to media reports, on 31 January, Zaripova died from multiple stab wounds. The main suspect is the victim's husband, Sabyrzhan Zaripov. They had been married for almost 15 years and were raising a 12-year-old daughter.
Lately, their family life could not be described as happy. Relatives told journalists that at home, Al-Beine periodically faced moral and physical abuse. Her husband restricted her contact with friends and family, forcing her to communicate with them almost in secret.
The Almaty Police Department stated that a pre-trial investigation is underway regarding the murder. The suspect has been detained and taken into custody.
It is reported that the murder took place at home. The woman had flown to Almaty from Dubai for one day to see her daughter. Incidentally, the victim's daughter now wishes to be taken into the custody of her grandmother.
Journalists also reported that Sabyrzhan Zaripov had once tried to strangle his wife. The woman forgave him then. Moreover, last November, she called the police when her husband would not let her go on a business trip abroad, trying to lock her in the house and twisting her arms.
Meanwhile, Al-Beine's brother said he last saw his sister in December 2023. At that time, she had bruises all over her body.
"My sister told me these were marks from beatings <...>, but she persuaded me not to confront him. She had already decided to divorce him and informed her husband of this. However, he insisted on taking six months to think it over.", recounted Al-Beine's brother.
The victim's mother stated that Sabyrzhan Zaripov was financially dependent on his wife. She believes this is precisely why divorce was unacceptable to him.
