In the Zhambyl region, a resident of the Zhualy district was fined for insulting an ambulance paramedic while on duty.
According to the regional court press service, a man who was intoxicated was dissatisfied with the work of the paramedic who had arrived on the scene.
He began to swear at the medic and struck her medical case. The frightened paramedic contacted the police, and a report was drawn up.
In court, the offender admitted his guilt, apologised, and asked not to be punished severely. Taking into account his minor children and his remorse, the court reduced the fine by 30%.
Ultimately, the man was found guilty under Article 80-1, Part 2 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (“Obstruction of the lawful activities of medical and pharmaceutical workers”) and fined 82,000 tenge. The court decision has not yet entered into legal force.
It is worth recalling that previously, at the Ministry of Health, with the participation of the head of the department, Akmaraal Alnazarova, and the chairman of the board of Kazakhtelecom JSC, Bagdat Musin, digital solutions using artificial intelligence were discussed.
The projects concerned issues of improving the safety of medical personnel, expanding access to medical care for the rural population, and reducing the workload on doctors.
One such innovation was the introduction of smart video buttons to improve the safety of healthcare workers. The technology is already being used in pilot mode by five ambulance teams in Astana, and a launch in Almaty is planned in the near future. The initiative was supported by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Later, the Ministry of Health, together with territorial police departments, ensured the operation of 152 round-the-clock police posts in medical organisations across Kazakhstan.
It was also reported that a project to equip ambulances with video surveillance systems is being implemented in Astana.
