A scandal is brewing in a hospital in Ust-Kamenogorsk: a patient has claimed that he was beaten by a doctor during treatment. According to relatives, the man has injuries to his face, back and lower back. The victim has filed a complaint with the police, asking for the medic to be held accountable.
According to MIA "Kazinform", the police department of the East Kazakhstan region confirmed that a criminal case has been initiated following the complaint. Forensic medical examinations have been ordered.
As the department noted, there is as yet no confirmation that the injuries were sustained specifically in the hospital, and the details of the investigation are not being disclosed in the interests of the inquiry.
The situation once again raises the issue of protecting all participants in the medical process. It is worth recalling that earlier, the Minister of Health, Akmaraul Alnazarova, and the Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom JSC, Bagdat Musin, discussed digital solutions using artificial intelligence.
The projects addressed issues of improving the safety of medical personnel, expanding the accessibility of medical care for the rural population, and reducing the workload on doctors.
One such innovation is the introduction of smart video badges to improve the safety of healthcare workers. It has become known that five ambulance teams in Astana are already using the technology in a pilot mode, and a launch in Almaty is planned in the near future. The initiative was supported by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
