An unknown man threw an incendiary device into entrance No. 11 of the House of Ministries in Astana. The suspect has been detained.
According to Informburo.kz, citing the press service of the capital's emergency situations department, the incident occurred on the morning of 10 July.
"The automatic fire alarm was activated, and the department's personnel and equipment quickly arrived at the scene. During reconnaissance, it was established that an unknown individual had entered the building and thrown an incendiary mixture at the turnstile, resulting in a fire covering an area of about two square metres," the statement said.
It is noted that the fire was extinguished with a fire extinguisher. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
The capital's police department reported that a 24-year-old suspect has been detained. A pre-trial investigation is underway, during which the authorities have promised to establish all the circumstances of what happened.
