In Almaty, more than 18,000 units of counterfeit powdered camel milk, labelled under the well-known Kazakh brand Saubota, were seized. This was reported by the press service of the department of justice.

According to Informburo.kz, an unscheduled inspection was carried out following an official request from the rights holder. The legal manufacturer of products under the Saubota trademark is LLP «Eurasia Invest LTD».

During the inspection, it was established that the offenders not only stored the products for subsequent sale, but had also set up their illegal production.

On site, finished batches of milk, empty containers, lids and rolls of labels were seized. Using special equipment, the counterfeit goods were packaged and labelled with another party's trademark. All items were seized, reports were drawn up and the materials were sent to court.

As a reminder, in January in Shymkent, a scheme for laundering proceeds from the underground production of surrogate alcohol was uncovered. Since 2022, a married couple had organised the illegal production of alcohol with counterfeit excise stamps. In addition to Shymkent, the products were sold in neighbouring regions — Turkestan and Zhambyl regions.

During searches, finished alcohol products and 75 million tenge were seized from the suspects. The criminal income from the activity of the underground workshop was estimated at more than 309 million tenge
