In November, in the Aktobe region, law enforcement officers exposed the activities of a group of individuals who were involved in the theft and transportation of primary oil refinery products using forged documents.

According to Polisia.kz, drivers of lorries were detained in two regions, who, on the instructions of the organisers, were transporting around 60 tonnes of oil products.

During searches at the places of residence of the suspects and in the offices of one of the enterprises, the police seized approximately 400 tonnes of oil products, as well as firearms and gas weapons. Furthermore, the police seized financial and business documents that confirm signs of illegal operations.

At the same time, the activities of a company that may have been involved in the smuggling of fuel abroad are being investigated. According to preliminary data, the volume of fuel exported by the enterprise exceeds 30,000 tonnes, worth around 8 billion tenge.

As clarified by the police, back in October, four railway wagons belonging to this company were detained at one of the border railway checkpoints. The cargo was heading to a neighbouring country and contained approximately 300 tonnes of oil products.

A pre-trial investigation continues into all discovered incidents, and expert examinations have been ordered.

Earlier, in September in the Karaganda region, the activities of an organised criminal group suspected of systematic theft of diesel fuel were eliminated.

During operational and search activities, police identified 28 episodes of theft of fuels and lubricants from railway rolling stock.
