JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" (KGS) has filed a lawsuit to protect its business reputation against the founder of FBRC, Kirill Pavlov. The hearing will take place on 4 May in the Inter-district Civil Court of Shymkent.

It is not yet known what exactly the basis of KGS's claims are. Pavlov links the lawsuit to the national company's displeasure, which was caused by critical articles about the flood situation in the country.

The ministry and "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" claim that the national spatial data operator does not engage in preliminary forecasting of floods and fires.

Meanwhile, skirting the wording "forecasting", KGS states on its official website and on social media that it is involved in space monitoring of the territory of Kazakhstan and analysis of Earth remote sensing data (ERS).

We also note that previously the agency accused the FBRC editorial team of disseminating false information. Allegedly, we wrote that "the total amount spent by the state on the services of JSC 'NC 'Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary' for forecasting the flood situation for 2023-2024 amounts to more than 1.4 billion tenge".

However, no such wording was present in any editorial material. The discussion concerned the amounts of KGS's contracts with state bodies for all space services. We published a detailed analysis of "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary's" transactions for 2023-2024 previously.

Furthermore, we have repeatedly written about the activities of "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary", noting that the national spatial data operator buys space images from foreign suppliers for their subsequent resale to Kazakh state bodies, a fact which the national company itself does not deny.

In this regard, we would like to appeal to Mr. Musin with a request to thoroughly analyse the activities of the national company under his supervision, listening to public opinion, in order to avoid the consequences that may arise during court proceedings as a result of the disclosure of a number of facts.
