The Prosecutor's Office of the North Kazakhstan Region has demanded the resumption of an investigation into violations of sanitary rules, which was opened after the poisoning of a family of five in the Kyzyzharsky District.

According to Informburo.kz, the department also overturned the decision to terminate the criminal case.

"The Police Department conducted a pre-trial investigation under Article 304, Part 3 of the Criminal Code regarding the violation of sanitary rules, which negligently resulted in the death of two people. The decision made by the investigative body to terminate the criminal case due to the absence of a criminal offence has been overturned by the regional prosecutor's office for the purpose of carrying out additional investigative actions," stated the supervisory authority in a comment.

Recall that in June, in the Kyzyzharsky District of the North Kazakhstan Region, a family of five was poisoned after consuming products purchased from a shop; two children, aged 3 and 6died. At the time, it was reported that examinations showed the children died from acute nitrite poisoning. Later, staphylococcus was found in the semi-finished products.

In October, police terminated the investigation, finding no evidence of a crime. A few days ago, the mother of the deceased children appealed to the prosecutor's office, asking for a review of the Police Department's decision.
