Illegally export 25 tonnes of fuel from Kazakhstan attempted since the start of the year

Since the beginning of 2024, 103 attempts to illegally export fuel and lubricants totalling 13,650 litres were detected at the Kazakh-Russian border. At the Kazakh-Uzbek border, there were 68 attempts totalling 11,135 litres. Fines totalling 3.7 million tenge were collected.

According to the press service of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance, Kazakhstan currently has a ban on the export of certain types of petroleum products outside the country.

It is reported that in 2023, 294 attempts to export petroleum products totalling 79,800 litres were stopped at the Kazakh-Uzbek border. At the Kazakh-Russian border, 324 cases involving nearly 60,000 litres were prevented. The state budget received 24.5 million tenge in fines.

Recall that from 29 March 2024, a six-month ban on exporting petrol, diesel fuel and certain petroleum products from Kazakhstan has been in place.
