The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) in the Kostanay Region has launched a pre-trial investigation into the registration of 83 heavy-duty vehicles without payment of the fee for their initial registration. The damage to the state amounted to 591 million tenge

According to the agency's press service, from 2020 to 2023, residents of the Kostanay Region imported tractors from Europe, using forged foreign technical passports for their special registration.

The documents stated an incorrect year of manufacture, which allowed the reduction of the initial registration fee from 7 million tenge to 700 thousand tenge.

"According to the Tax Code, the amount payable for saddle tractors with the actual date of manufacture would have been from 2,500 MCI, however, using forged documents, the suspects paid 350 MCI," the statement said.

During searches at the suspects' homes and office, law enforcement officers seized: international consignment notes, invoices and receipts for payment of customs duties, vehicle purchase contracts, and declarations.

The court ordered the seizure of the trucks, as well as the suspects' property worth almost 1 billion tenge

Recall that earlier it was reported that in the Akmola Region, employees of the Special Service Centre (SpetsTsON) were exposed for illegally registering freight vehicles. They had been carrying out these unlawful actions for two years.
