More than 28 billion tenge from the Special State Fund, which holds 177 billion tenge in funds returned to the state, have been allocated to complete the construction of a multi-purpose hospital complex in Ridder.
According to the government press service, the medical facility with an inpatient unit is designed for 200 beds, and the outpatient clinic for 500 visits per shift.
It is expected that the total area of the new multi-purpose complex will be 40,000 m2. The hospital is planned to be equipped with expert-class medical equipment. Over 500 staff will be able to work here.
It has been reported that construction of the hospital complex began in 2021. The total cost of the project was 34.8 billion tenge, with 6.6 billion tenge spent to date. 2 billion tenge was allocated from the republican budget, and 4.6 billion tenge from the local budget.
“Earlier, during a working trip to the East Kazakhstan Region, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov was informed during an inspection of the construction site about the need for project financing to complete the work. The measures taken will prevent this socially significant facility from becoming a ‘long-term construction project’ and will provide residents with high-quality and accessible medical services.”, the statement reads.
It is noted that the buildings of the only hospital complex, housed in 12 structures, were built more than 80 years ago.
“The facilities are outdated and do not meet modern requirements. Furthermore, to provide emergency medical care to the population, it is necessary to additionally open cardiology, stroke, trauma, and burn beds.”, the statement reads.
For context, in May of last year, it was reported that in Atyrau, 6 billion tenge seized from corrupt officials is planned to be used to finance the construction of two schools with 600 places each.
In April of the same year, it was reported that construction of 69 educational institutions would be completed using money from corrupt officials. Part of these funds was intended to be allocated for the construction of schools in the Turkestan region.
In October of this year, it was reported that funds from the Special Fund are planned to be allocated for the construction of a sports complex in the village of Zerenda, Akmola region, and a music school in the village of Temirlan, Turkestan region.
At the same time, Kazakhstan has begun implementing social projects using the 12 billion tenge returned to the state. One such project is the construction of a centre for modern culture in Almaty.
Furthermore, at the beginning of November, an additional 525 billion tenge was returned to the state, which is set to be directed towards the construction of a sports complex for gifted children with 120 places in Arkalyk, a rehabilitation centre for children with musculoskeletal disorders in Astana, and a training centre for people with special needs with 400 places in Almaty.
The other day, it was reported that the government plans to allocate 7.8 billion tenge from the Special State Fund for the construction of a kindergarten for children with special needs in Aktobe.
