The official is suspected of systematically receiving bribes in exchange for general patronage at work from the heads of the centre's branches in the Atyrau, Zhambyl, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, and Kyzylorda regions, as well as the Abai and Zhetysu regions.
By court order, the suspect has been placed under house arrest. Meanwhile, the investigation will consider the liability of the heads of the centre's branches regarding the bribery offences. It has been reported that the investigation is ongoing.
It has come to light that since August 2023, the head of the Republican State Enterprise "Republican Methodological Centre for Phytosanitary Diagnostics and Forecasts" has been Zhanybek Kenesbekov.
