The Anti-Corruption Agency is investigating a criminal case against the former chairman of the board of LLP «Astana LRT» Talǵat Ardan.
According to the agency's press service, he is suspected under Article 361, Part 4, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Abuse of official powers).
It is reported that due to Ardan being outside the Republic of Kazakhstan and avoiding attendance, the Anti-Corruption Agency has published a notice summoning the suspect in the media.
"In order to conduct the interrogation and announce the resolution on the classification of the suspect Ardan T.'s act, he must appear at 09:00 hours on 23 August 2024 at the administrative building of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Anti-Corruption Affairs at the address: Astana city, Qabanbay Batyr Avenue, 19, block «B», to the head of the investigative-operational group, Utepkaliev Zh." - the statement says.
To participate in investigative actions, the suspect has the right to invite a defence lawyer independently or to petition the body conducting the criminal proceedings to provide for the participation of a defence lawyer.
Recall that in 2021, seven defendants were convicted in the case of embezzlement during the implementation of the «Astana LRT» project. The former deputy akim of the capital, Qanat Sultanbekov, and the former head of the company «Astana LRT», Talǵat Ardan, were placed on the international wanted list.
