The Department of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM) for the Aktobe Region has completed its investigation into a criminal case concerning a former head of JSC "Aviation Repair Plant No. 406 GA". He is suspected of organising a scheme to embezzle budget funds allocated for the repair of aircraft.
According to the press service of the agency, the suspect, using his official position, established a mechanism for the fictitious write-off of inventory intended for the repair of aircraft.
It is reported that the procurement of assemblies and components for Mi-2 helicopters, An-2 aircraft and aircraft engines was carried out through controlled companies, while the actual receipt and use of the parts did not take place.
In the plant's reporting, these components were recorded as issued from the warehouse and installed during the overhaul of the aircraft.
Based on the fictitious data, inventory write-off certificates were drawn up, formally confirming their use. In this way, the suspect created the appearance of lawful expenditure of material resources.
The damage caused to the state amounted to 110 million tenge. The suspect's property (two apartments and a plot of land) has been seized. The criminal case has been referred to court.
It will be recalled that in January in Astana, the acting head of the RSE "Kazspecexport" Arshat Ayaganov was sentenced. He was found guilty of abuse of official powers during the supply of armoured vehicles. Damage to the state amounted to 2.8 billion tenge.
Incidentally, the editorial board of FBRK previously reported that "Kazspecexport" conducted tenders for specialised equipment and machinery. In particular, bulletproof vests, demolition kits, and MiG aircraft were put up for sale.
