Gravel worth 437 million tenge was illegally mined in the Turkestan region.

In the Turkestan region, police have uncovered illegal gravel extraction. The damage to the state exceeded 437 million tenge.

According to Polisia.kz, police have stopped the activities of a group of people involved in illegal subsoil use in the Kele district of the Turkestan region.

“Officers from the organised crime unit of the Turkestan Regional Police Department detained four suspects who were illegally selling minerals (gravel),” the statement said.

During a search, law enforcement officers seized an excavator, a loader, four trucks and other physical evidence from the suspects. 

Currently, a criminal case has been opened regarding this incident, and investigative and operational measures are underway to establish all the circumstances.

To recall, at the beginning of September, environmental prosecutors in Aktobe identified violations in the activities of LLP «Voskhod Khrom» during the processing of chrome ore in the Khromtau district of the Aktobe region. It was reported that the enterprise operated throughout 2022 without the required environmental permit.

Later, the AFM sent to court a case regarding the unauthorised extraction of manganese ore in the Ulytau region. The suspect, from 2020 to 2023, without permits, illegally mined manganese ore at the «Vostochny» quarry. The damage to the state exceeded 1 billion tenge.
