A group of individuals suspected of illegally mining gold on sites without permits has been identified in the Suzak district of the Turkestan region. According to investigators, they violated environmental legislation requirements and industrial safety standards. The volume of illegally mined precious metal, as stated in the inspection materials, amounted to approximately 451 grammes.
HOW THE CASE DEVELOPED
The inspection was carried out by the Turkestan Regional Prosecutor's Office. During the inspection, it was established that 12 people were mining gold on sites without official permits. Based on the data obtained, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated under parts 1 and 3 of Article 295-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Illegal extraction and trafficking of minerals").
PREVENTIVE MEASURES AND INVESTIGATIVE ACTIONS
The investigative authorities carried out the necessary procedures with the suspects. A preventive measure of house arrest has been imposed on five individuals. Data regarding the remaining participants has not been specified.
The prosecutor's office notes that illegal mining of minerals poses a threat to the region's ecology and damages the state's economic security. Such actions incur criminal liability in accordance with the law.
