Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) conducted an unscheduled quality monitoring of medical services and identified various violations in 238 out of 1,400 checked medical organisations.

According to the press service of the Supreme Audit Chamber (SAC), the violations included a lack of permits, several clinics operating from the same premises, staff without valid certificates, and so on.

As a result, financial penalties were applied against 61 healthcare institutions. At the same time, the SHIF began the process of terminating contracts with 10 medical organisations

"Regarding the violations found, 116 notifications have also been sent to the territorial departments of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for further action," the statement said.

In addition, the fund has developed a unified algorithm for conducting such inspections and transferring data to the competent authorities.

It was previously reported that dental clinics in Kazakhstan and the SHIF were engaged in a legal dispute over payment for anaesthesia services during dental treatment.
