Freedom Holding Corp. and the Ministry of Education are planning to create a single educational ecosystem

The Ministry of Education and Freedom Holding Corp. have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

According to the department's press service, the document provides for the establishment of a partnership in the development of educational resources. It is reported that the initiative will be implemented as part of a presidential directive.

"Today, we see a need to create a unified digital ecosystem that will allow for the full automation of processes at all levels of education. Therefore, the Ministry of Education, with the support of Freedom Holding Corp., has begun work on creating a marketplace for educational products using artificial intelligence tools to develop the individual talent of every child through soft nudging. This will allow children to decide on their career choice early on, based on their talents, increase the human capital of our country, and improve communication between teacher, child, and parent", said Vice Minister of Education Aray Urazova.

The parties also discussed the level of accessibility of the upcoming online learning on a unified educational platform, and also agreed on its promotion within educational organisations. At the same time, the department and the corporation plan to implement joint projects, hold conferences and seminars.

In turn, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Helios Soft LLP, Serik Butumbayev, on his Facebook page asked a number of questions regarding the conclusion of the partnership:

  • What about companies that created a business at their own expense and have long been involved in the automation of education?
  • How does this all align with the President's directive to eliminate monopoly and oligopoly?
  • By whom and when was the decision made, and why should it be Freedom? Why were the interests of existing businesses not taken into account; during the pandemic, they did a great deal to ensure that the quality and availability of education did not suffer, and even today they do much for the benefit of developing educational digitalisation?

"In general, it's sad when decisions are made in a non-competitive and behind-closed-doors manner. One really wishes, as the President said, for an open government, but for now, it's just old tunes with new lyrics", laments Serik Butumbayev.

Recall that earlier, the FBRK editorial team reported on a new joint project between Freedom Telecom and Sergek Group - the Intelligent Toll Collection System (ISKAD). The project is planned to be implemented within the framework of a PPP agreement.

The main function of ISKAD is to track the transportation of goods throughout the country, as well as to control the weight of freight vehicles.
