The prosecutor's office of the Borodulikha district of the Abai region has uncovered instances of illegal occupation of state land and deforestation in the state forest nature reserve "Ertis ormany".

WOOD STORED ON PASTURELAND

As the prosecutor's inspection revealed, officials of the Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park and the "Ertis ormany" nature reserve, without legal grounds, placed harvested timber on pastureland of the villages of Uspenka and Podnebesnoye. The land plots were not allocated to the state institution.

PUNISHMENT

For illegal use of land, two officials of the "Ertis ormany" nature reserve have been brought to administrative responsibility. The fines have already been paid.

ILLEGAL FELLING

In the Uspenka forestry district of the Novoshulbinsk branch, illegal felling of 92 pine trees with a total volume of 96.7 cubic metres was uncovered. The damage caused amounted to more than 760,000 tenge.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

The case materials regarding the illegal felling of trees have been transferred to the police, where a pre-trial investigation has been launched. Forestry officials have been brought to disciplinary responsibility under the prosecutor's supervision order.

It is worth recalling that in autumn 2024, by order of the chairman of the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources, a ban was imposed on all types of forest felling in the "Ertis ormany" nature reserve for a period of 5 years.

In spring 2025, the former general director of the "Ertis ormany" reserve was found guilty of receiving bribes, embezzlement, abuse of official power, and leading an organised criminal group. Damage was caused to the state amounting to more than 150 million tenge. The former head of the reserve was sentenced to 12 years. His accomplices received between 3 and 10 years of imprisonment.
