Violations have been identified in Kokshetau during the implementation of the ArtSport programme. The court found an individual entrepreneur guilty of embezzling budget funds allocated under a state sports contract.
HOW THE VIOLATIONS WERE IDENTIFIED
According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», a prosecutor’s analysis showed that from May 2023 to September 2024, the individual entrepreneur drew up documents claiming that classes were held for six children, who in fact did not attend the sessions. Based on these documents, funds were transferred from the budget to the entrepreneur’s bank account.
The total damage to the state amounted to more than 1.4 million tenge. The case materials do not specify how the discrepancies between actual attendance and reported data were uncovered.
COURT DECISION
A criminal case was initiated in relation to this incident. By a verdict of the Kokshetau city court, the entrepreneur was found guilty under Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (“Fraud”).
The court imposed a sentence of two years’ restriction of liberty, and also banned her from holding financially responsible positions for a period of three years.
