In Astana, a sentence was passed on a doctor who deceived six patients by promising to help with arranging disability status.
According to the city prosecutor's office, the medic offered these "services" directly at his workplace, although he had no authority to assist with such matters. For this fake mediation, he received more than 4 million tenge from patients, which he spent on personal needs.
The court found the doctor guilty of fraud and, taking into account the totality of the crimes, sentenced him to imprisonment. Material damages were recovered in favour of the victims. The sentence has entered into legal force.
The capital's prosecutor's office reminded that obtaining social services, including arranging disability status, is only possible through an official application to the authorised bodies.
Earlier, the Atbasar District Court of the Akmola Region sentenced a doctor accused of fraud using his official position. The defendant knew that within the framework of the Guaranteed Volume of Free Medical Care (GVFMC), the patient could receive the necessary assistance at Astana City Hospital No. 2.
Despite this, he offered the patient's relative to pay for "treatment by a cardiac surgeon" for 1.5 million tenge. At the same time, the defendant had no arrangements with any doctors.
