Debts on wages amounting to 672 million tenge were identified at enterprises in Kazakhstan

State labour inspectors have identified wage arrears at 66 enterprises across the country. 

According to the press service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, debts to 1,700 workers amounted to 672 million tenge. Additionally, during inspections in various organisations, 2,338 violations of labour legislation were recorded, including 1,920 in the sphere of labour, 401 in occupational safety and health, and 17 in the sphere of employment.

In response to the identified violations, inspectors issued 1,283 binding orders and imposed administrative fines totalling more than 152 million tenge.

"The rights of more than 1,300 workers have been protected. They have been paid 355.3 million tenge", the department reported.

The ministry noted that issues of compliance with labour rights and guarantees remain under special supervision. As of 1 May 2025, as part of state control, inspectors conducted 1,891 inspections at enterprises in various sectors and restored the labour rights of 13,800 workers

Earlier, the prosecutor's office of the Kyzylorda region identified violations of the rights of a number of workers, which led to wage arrears. It was reported that 2,360 workers employed under the "Youth Practice" programme did not receive their January wages amounting to 263.9 million tenge.
