The KNБ Department is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the management and employees of the Department of the Criminal Enforcement System (DCES) of Almaty.
According to the department's press service, officials of the DCES are suspected of abusing their official powers, exceeding their authority, and accepting bribes.
A measure of restraint in the form of 'detention in custody' has been chosen for 3 employees.
It is reported that investigative and operational activities are ongoing.
Recall that in August, the head of the DCES for the North Kazakhstan Region, Adlet Mustafinov, was found guilty of accepting a bribe from an entrepreneur for assistance in concluding a state procurement contract. He received the amount of 1 million tenge through an intermediary. The court found Mustafinov guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 30 million tenge.
