In the Atyrau region, the head of the labour inspection department, S. Dzhabasov, has been convicted.

According to the Anti-Corruption Service press office, he was accused of attempting to fraudulently misappropriate an entrepreneur's funds. He was also charged with incitement to bribe officials to halt a criminal investigation into the deaths of two workers at a workplace.

The court sentenced him to 4 years' imprisonment and a lifetime ban from holding positions in the civil service.
