Construction of a school in the Aktobe region has been delayed by 4 years

An educational institution in the town of Kandyagash, Aktobe Region, began construction in 2021. According to the plan, the school was supposed to open earlier, but currently, even the walls of the building are not yet finished.

As reported by 24.kz, local residents said that no more than two people are on the site, and construction work has almost come to a halt.

Meanwhile, about a thousand children from the Samal, Bolashak, and Nurlykosh microdistricts are forced to travel to other parts of the city to study while waiting for the new school.

It has become known that five schools in Kandyagash are currently overcrowded — there are not enough places for 1,700 students. The new school was supposed to solve the problem by providing 900 places, but the completion of construction has been postponed for another year.

The project was initially valued at 1.7 billion tenge, but due to rising prices for construction materials, its cost has increased to 2.5 billion tenge.

For their part, representatives of the construction department of the Aktobe Region are blaming the contractor for negligence.

"Currently, inspections by the construction supervision authority are underway. Based on the results, we will notify the contractor of their failure to fulfil obligations. And if necessary, we will file a lawsuit," said the deputy head of the regional construction department, Aslan Zharasbayev.

Now, children from the Samal microdistrict are pinning their hopes on the opening of another school, which is being built under the 'Comfortable School' project. Its completion is promised by September of next year.

Recall that at the beginning of September, it was reported that in the village of Novonezhinka, Auliekol District, Kostanay Region, schoolchildren were forced to study in a half-renovated building. Only four classrooms were ready in the school, where lessons for middle school students were held. High school students studied in the local wrestling hall, and first-graders in a kindergarten.

The day after the media publication, it was reported that a wall had collapsed at the Novonezhinka School. According to the district administration, no children or teachers were in the school at the time, and no one was injured.

Incidentally, in September, it became known that children from the village of Aktogan, Merke District, Zhambyl Region, were forced to study in a House of Culture due to the incomplete construction of a school. At the time, the school's director stated that the institution's leadership had to take this step out of desperation.

Later, it was reported that in the village of Sharbulak, Kazygurt District, Turkestan Region, there were not enough places in classrooms for all children, and some students were studying in the corridor. Teachers even built several improvised 'classrooms', and half of the building was declared unsafe.
