An audit by the Department of State Revenues of the Pavlodar Region has revealed that Bogatyr Komir LLP unlawfully applied a reduced rate of corporate income tax (CIT) of 5% instead of the established 15%.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, following the audit, the company was issued a notice of additional CIT assessment totalling 777 million tenge.

The company disagreed with the department's decision and appealed it in the administrative court, which ultimately overturned the notice.

However, following an appeal by the prosecutor's office, the Pavlodar Regional Court recognised the CIT assessment notice as lawful.

It is worth recalling that in April 2023, we reported on the connection between Bogatyr Komir LLP and disgraced Russian oligarchs, as well as the company's major procurement deals with the state holding company Samruk-Kazyna.
