Since the start of the year, officers at the capital's customs post "Әуежай-Астана" have foiled 22 cases of illegal currency export totalling more than 400 million tenge

This was reported by informburo.kz, citing the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance.

"At the same time, 3 cases involving more than 172 million tenge, bearing signs of criminal offences, have been referred to the Department of Economic Investigations of Astana, and 19 cases totalling 281 million tenge, bearing signs of administrative offences, where the total fine amounts to 664,560 tenge", the statement reads.

Furthermore, it emerged that violators had attempted to illegally export gold bars weighing 433 grams and collector coins weighing 3 kg, valued at more than 70 million tenge

Recall that in February of this year, while checking in for an international flight "Atyrau-Kutaisi", a citizen of Georgia attempted to take $100,000 in cash out of Kazakhstan.
