The AMANAT party has commented on the situation surrounding Mazhilis deputy Adil Zhubanov, who is linked to the company BatysAlianStroy LLP. According to media reports, the company has been awarded government contracts worth more than 15 billion tenge.
As reported by Kursiv.media, Zhubanov is the sole founder of the company, which continues to participate in tenders and receive budgetary orders.
"This company has been operating in the market for many years and receives government contracts solely on a competitive basis, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation on public procurement. The existence of contracts in itself is not evidence of an offence or abuse of power," the party clarified.
According to representatives of AMANAT, after being elected to the Mazhilis in March 2023, Zhubanov transferred management of the company to a trust, observing the necessary legal procedures.
The party also stressed that it monitors deputies' compliance with the Code of Ethics. If violations on the part of Zhubanov are subsequently identified, AMANAT has promised to conduct an internal investigation.
Recall, it was previously reported that the Anti-Corruption Service had taken an interest in the possible connection between the deputy akim of the Atyrau region, Kairat Nurtayev, and BatysAlianStroy LLP, which has been winning tenders from local executive bodies for a long time. It has become known that before taking up the post of deputy akim, Nurtayev was the general director of this company.
