Information is circulating online that the son of the director of the limited liability partnership "Avtopark", Meirzhan Undirgenov - Bekzhan Sagidullaev, while intoxicated, was indirectly responsible for hitting a police officer.
According to Ratel.kz, the incident occurred on 22 September on a street in Aktobe, after patrol officers stopped a Lexus car.
"The 29-year-old driver was tested, and the examination concluded he was intoxicated. After completing the examination, the man ran out of the medical facility and got into his wife's car. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the woman, trying to flee with her husband, ran over a police captain and dragged him several metres along the bonnet", the report states.
The police officer was not injured. It later emerged that Sagidullaev and his wife were detained.
As journalists report, in 2016 several criminal cases were opened against the businessman and former deputy Meirzhan Undirgenov.
According to the investigation, as the owner of the limited liability partnership "Avtopark", Undirgenov created an organised criminal group made up of trusted employees.
"Their duties included acting as an information locomotive, creating a false impression that the enterprise was unprofitable. Thanks to this, the group managed for a long time to secure budget subsidies under the programme 'Organisation of intra-city and intra-district passenger transport'", the report states.
In court, it emerged that the company's reports reflected only 40% of "Avtopark's" profits. The remaining money allegedly ended up in Undirgenov's pockets.
During a search of Undirgenov's home, nearly $3.3 million, €1.8 million, 161,791 tenge, 326,300 roubles, as well as 84.5 million tenge and $89,259 in bank accounts were found.
The investigation lasted a year. Ultimately, the court sentenced Undirgenov to 4 years in prison, finding that he had embezzled 900 million tenge in subsidy funds.
After just a year, Undirgenov was released. It is noted that he remains the director of "Avtopark", which is the main passenger carrier in Aktobe.
