The prosecutor's office of the Kaztalovsky district of the West Kazakhstan Region uncovered the embezzlement of 7 million tenge from the administration of the Kokterek rural district

According to the press service of the department, prosecutors identified a discrepancy between the entitled salary and the actual salary paid to the accountant of the administration, who had been overpaying herself for 3 years.

"In connection with this fact, the district prosecutor's office initiated a pre-trial investigation, after which the criminal case was transferred to the Anti-Corruption Service. During the investigation, the accountant admitted her guilt and fully compensated for the damage," the statement reads.

As a result, the accountant was convicted under Article 189, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (misappropriation and embezzlement of entrusted property on a large scale) and sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment with a lifelong ban from holding certain positions.

It is reported that the court took into account the presence of the defendant's young child and deferred the execution of the sentence by 2 years, i.e., until the child reaches the age of 14.

Earlier, the Aktobe City Court pronounced a sentence on the chief accountant of school-gymnasium No. 55, Bekzat Tazhenov, who lost embezzled state funds totalling more than 413 million tenge on bets.

It also became known that the prosecutor's office of the Karatobinsky district of the West Kazakhstan Region uncovered instances of illegal use of a state institution's digital signature key. It was reported that an accountant, using the manager's digital signature key, illegally transferred budget funds to his own account amounting to approximately 7 million tenge.
