According to polisia.kz, the offenders caused material damage of almost 63 million tenge.
"The director and the accountant, over the course of seven years, established several additional staff positions, illegally paid extra wages beyond the authorised positions, and also made mandatory pension contributions and contributions to compulsory social health insurance," the statement said.
As a result, the court found them guilty and sentenced them to seven years in prison. It was reported that the former director was placed in the quarantine unit of institution No. 23 in the Abai region. She has already paid part of her debt to the state.
At the same time, the court took into account that the accountant has a five-year-old daughter and postponed the defendant's sentence of five years in prison.
Earlier, it was reported that the Anti-Corruption Service of the Almaty region is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the head of the State Institution "Education Department of the Ili District of the Almaty Region".
She is suspected of embezzling 680 million tenge. The investigation believes that she paid salaries to fictitious employees who did not actually work in secondary schools of the Ili District.
It was also reported that the management of the private kindergarten "RozAl Centre" in Taraz is suspected of embezzling 13 million tenge allocated for financing pre-school organisations. According to the city prosecutor's office, the director received budget funds for children who did not actually attend the kindergarten.
