Police in Uralsk, during an operation codenamed "Poacher," stopped a car in which they discovered approximately 600 saiga horns.

According to media reports, the driver of the vehicle was a resident of the Atyrau region. The driver was detained, a criminal case was opened against him, and he was placed in a temporary detention facility.

As a reminder, we previously reported that the Ministry of Ecology plans to legalise the sale of saiga horns abroad. In the comments, people speculated that perhaps the authorities deliberately initiated the culling of the steppe antelope in order to eventually make money legally from the saiga.
