The Aktobe Prosecutor's Office has uncovered the embezzlement of budget funds at the Centre for Road Safety and Digital Technologies.
According to the press service of the agency, the director of the institution is suspected of accepting reports for road marking work that was not actually carried out, totalling 272 million tenge.
"His actions have been classified under Article 189, Part 4, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code (misappropriation or embezzlement of entrusted property), and he has been remanded in custody", the statement said.
The criminal case has now been sent to Court No. 2 in Aktobe.
In December 2024, the deputy head of the Zhambyl regional branch of KazAvtoZhol, Tultayev D., the project manager from the contractor DorStroy LLP, Kurbanov U., and the technical supervision expert from Almaty Sapa Engineering LLP, Musakul D., were convicted.
They were found guilty of embezzling more than 296 million tenge during the construction of the Kordai checkpoint on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border.
