The Ministry of Agriculture has reported the completion of work to update statistics in livestock farming.

According to the ministry's press service, one of the problematic issues in agricultural development is the distortion of statistical data collected based on records kept by local akims.

"Incorrect source data can lead to serious problems, such as a shortage of products on the market, overproduction, insufficient support from the state, and other negative consequences," the statement said.

It is reported that as of 1 January 2024, the number of cattle decreased by almost 2 million head, milk production by 3 million tonnes, the number of sheep by 14%, goats by 20%, pigs by 34%, poultry by 22%, meat production by 15%, and chicken eggs by 10%, due to the correction of data and the identification of more reliable information.

Similar work is being carried out in crop farming, with plans to complete the updating of statistics in this area by August 2024.
