The Drivers' Association has been outraged by a fine issued to a car for "overloading" by 26 tonnes.

The Association of Individual Entrepreneurs and Legal Entities "Republican Association of Drivers and Owners of Freight Vehicles" reported a flagrant case of an erroneous fine.

On its Facebook page, representatives of the association reported that a Chevrolet Cobalt passenger car received a weight control violation notice — allegedly for an overload of 26 tonnes.

Meanwhile, the car's weight is approximately 1.5 tonnes, and the maximum allowable load is no more than 400 kilograms.

"This is not just a mistake — it is a disgrace for the entire weight and dimension control system. If a passenger car gets a fine like a lorry, then what about the thousands of real trucks that are fined daily 'by the arches' without inspection, without calibration, and without logic?" — stated the association's representatives.

The organisation demanded an immediate audit of all weighing arches in the country, as well as a check of the software generating such fines. The association also called for holding officials responsible for allowing such violations.

According to the association's representatives, such cases are no longer isolated and indicate systemic problems in the operation of automated control systems.

"Stop turning control into a source of errors and extortion! We need order, transparency, and common sense," the association emphasised.
