The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has uncovered facts of embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the employment sector in the State Institution "Centre for Labour Mobility" of the Turkestan region.
According to the press service of the agency, the total amount of damage caused exceeded 130 million tenge. Criminal cases have been opened against the institution's employees.
"During the investigation, it was established that officials of the State Institution 'Centre for Labour Mobility', together with the heads of several limited liability partnerships acting as employers, created a criminal scheme for embezzling budget funds intended as wages for individuals fictitiously performing labour activities at these enterprises", the statement reads.
It is worth recalling that earlier, the director of the State Institution "Centre for Labour Mobility" of the Mangystau region was sentenced to 2 years and 4 months in prison for embezzling 200 thousand tenge.
Furthermore, the Anti-Corruption Agency detained the head of the State Institution "Centre for Labour Mobility" of Shymkent, Asset Shagdat. It was reported that Shagdat and his deputy Dariya Ordabayeva are suspected of receiving "kickbacks" for issuing free grants for business development.
