In the Atyrau region, three new schools were brought into operation on the first day of the school year under the national project "Keleshek mektebi" - two in the villages of the Kurmangazy district and one in the town of Kulsary. This completes the construction of all nine schools planned under the project in the region.
SCHOOLS IN THE VILLAGES OF KURMANGAZY AND AKKOL
According to the akimat of the Atyrau region, two schools with 600 places each opened in the villages of Kurmangazy and Akkol in the Kurmangazy district. A school with 1,200 places was brought into operation in the town of Kulsary in the Zhylyoi district.
Construction of both facilities began in 2023 under the national project "Keleshek mektebi". The contractor is Kaspii Kurylys LTD LLP.
"In the former schools in the villages of Kurmangazy and Akkol, the number of pupils significantly exceeded the design capacity. The opening of the new schools not only reduces the shortage of places, but also gives children the opportunity to receive an education in a modern, safe and comfortable environment," said Abat Zhangaliev, akim of the Kurmangazy district.
SCHOOL IN KULSARY
The new school in Kulsary is designed for 1,200 pupils in a single shift. The educational institution features STEM and robotics classrooms, IT classes, creative workshops and sports halls. Conditions have been created for inclusive education and ensuring the safety of pupils.
Zhumabek Karazhanov, akim of the Zhylyoi district, noted that the opening of the new school will allow the modernisation of the town's educational infrastructure.
NINE OUT OF NINE: PROJECT COMPLETED
Under the national project "Keleshek mektebi", the construction of nine schools was planned in the Atyrau region. All of them have been brought into operation: six are located in the city of Atyrau, and three in the Kurmangazy and Zhylyoi districts.
In addition, construction is continuing on a further 14 schools in the region. Before the start of the school year, 10 new schools were brought into operation across the region as a whole.
This year, more than 155,000 pupils began their studies in schools in the Atyrau region, of whom more than 15,000 are first-graders.
