Satpayev City Court found an employee of a contractor guilty in a case involving the theft of personal protective equipment belonging to Kazakhmys Corporation LLP. According to the company, the damage caused amounted to 2,131,426 tenge.
HOW THE VIOLATION WAS DETECTED
The theft was uncovered by the security service of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP during an internal audit. It was established that the employee of the contractor, who worked as a warehouse manager at the No. 67 Batys deposit, stole respirators of the Ultra-210 brand using a fraudulent waybill.
The total amount of damage caused was 2,131,426 tenge.
HOW THE INVESTIGATION DEVELOPED
The materials from the internal audit were handed over to law enforcement agencies. During the pre-trial investigation, the accused fully admitted her guilt, compensated the company for the material damage in full, and entered into a procedural agreement on a guilty plea.
WHAT DECISION THE COURT MADE
The Satpayev City Court considered the criminal case and found the accused guilty.
The court imposed a sentence of 3 years of restriction of liberty with probation supervision.
In addition, the convicted person was ordered to make a mandatory payment to the Victim Compensation Fund, as required by law. The seized property was returned to the lawful owner.
WHAT THE COMPANY SAID
Kazakhmys Corporation LLP stated that protecting corporate assets, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring transparency in production processes are part of its corporate policy.
The company also stated that when illegal actions are detected, materials are forwarded to the relevant state authorities, and those responsible are held accountable in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
