Officers from the police, together with inspectors for the protection of aquatic biological resources, have stopped an instance of illegal fishing. The incident was recorded during patrol operations in the Shardara Reservoir area.
CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE DETECTION
During the patrol, police identified two local residents who, according to the investigation, were illegally catching fish using a boat and fishing nets. Approximately 130 kg of fish was seized from the suspects, reports Polisia.kz.
FURTHER MEASURES
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the illegal fishing. Police officers are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
The department reminded that violation of the environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan entails either administrative or criminal liability, depending on the severity of the offence.
