The NSC registered 106 corruption offences in September 2026

In September 2026, the Anti-Corruption Service of the National Security Committee (ACS NSC) registered 106 corruption offences. The established damage for completed cases amounted to 3.7 billion tenge.

HOW MANY OFFENCES WERE REGISTERED

According to the NSC press service, 106 corruption offences were registered in September. Most of the facts relate to bribery, embezzlement, fraud, abuse and exceeding official powers.

In criminal cases, 93 persons were recognised as suspects.

HOW MANY CRIMINAL CASES COMPLETED INVESTIGATION

During the reporting period, investigation of 81 criminal cases was completed, of which 78 were sent to court. The amount of established damage for completed criminal cases amounted to 3.7 billion tenge.

Sending a criminal case to court means the completion of the pre-trial investigation, while the guilt of the persons involved is established by the court.

CONTEXT

On 10 September 2026, the NSC reported the detention of two transport officials who were suspected of ensuring unhindered passage of freight transport exceeding the permitted weight norms. According to the investigation, they were given more than 40 million tenge. Both persons involved were taken into custody.

On 2 October 2026, it became known that an investigation was underway against officials of the state forest nature reserve "Semey Ormany". They are suspected of organising illegal logging and sale of timber. According to the investigation, for a monetary reward they provided access to the most liquid forest plots. The investigation is being conducted under Part 3 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Receiving a bribe").

On 5 October 2026, a court found the chairman of the Kazalinsky District Court, Dauren Abdykalykov, and judge Serik Bertai guilty of receiving a bribe. Each received 9 years of imprisonment.
