In Kazakhstan, interim results have been announced for the "National Fund for Children" programme, launched on the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Over the three years of the project, funds from the investment income of the National Fund have been credited to more than 7 million children, with total savings exceeding $2.5 billion.
HOW MUCH WAS CREDITED TO CHILDREN IN 2026
In 2026, the programme covered 6,918,656 children born between 2008 and 2025. The total amount credited for the year exceeded $900 million.
It is reported that each child received $130.71 from the investment income of the National Fund.
Separate payments are provided for those who come of age this year. In 2026, this applies to 356,613 individuals, for whom the total amount transferred will be $132.1 million.
HOW THE SAVINGS ACCUMULATION WORKS
The programme provides for the capitalisation of credited funds. Savings increase through investment income.
According to the programme's data, on the $232.94 previously credited to each participant, an additional investment income of $6.91 has been received.
Consequently, for children participating in the programme since its launch, the total savings for 2024–2026 amounted to $370.56 per child.
WHAT THE PROGRAMME FUNDS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SPENT ON
Some participants have already used the savings upon reaching adulthood. The funds were allocated for improving housing conditions and education.
According to programme data:
- $26.3 million was directed towards housing based on 158,774 approved applications
- $15.5 million was used for education based on 94,068 applications
Other uses of the funds are not specified in the materials.
HOW TO CHECK THE CREDITS
You can check a child's participation in the programme and the amount of savings in several ways:
- on the website kids.enpf.kz using the child's IIN
- in your personal account on the portal egov.kz
- in the mobile apps Halyk, Kaspi.kz and Bcc.kz
After reaching 18 years of age, the funds are transferred to a special account in the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF). Only the account holder can access them using an electronic digital signature (EDS).
If information about the child is not available in the apps, you must contact the Public Service Centre, and to confirm citizenship, contact the local migration service department.
WHO PARTICIPATES IN THE PROGRAMME
To use the accumulated funds for housing or education, the recipient must submit an application through the programme's authorised operators.
Initially, these operators were Otbasy Bank and Halyk Bank. In mid-2025, Bank CenterCredit also joined the programme.
