In the case of the death of 37-year-old police officer Aslan Alserov, whose burnt body was found on 23 June in the mountains of the Almaty Region, new statements have emerged from the defence of the minor defendants. Lawyers claim that the teenagers may have been put under pressure during the investigation, and that the first interrogation of one of them took place without a lawyer present.

WHAT THE LAWYERS SAID

According to Ulysmedia.kz, lawyer Galim Nurpeisov stated that his client, who is a friend of the deceased's son, came to the Alserov family home on the day of the incident to play on a PlayStation.

According to the lawyer, the teenager's first interrogation was conducted without a defence lawyer present, and he believes the investigators may have put pressure on the minors.

He said that the defence is awaiting the results of a psychological and psychiatric examination, after which it intends to push for a second interrogation. Nurpeisov also stated that the children were in a state of shock following the conflict between the spouses and, in his opinion, could not have planned the events in advance.

Furthermore, the lawyer referred to the concept of 'excess of participation', noting that, in his assessment, the actions of the teenagers require a separate legal evaluation.

POSITION OF THE SECOND DEFENCE LAWYER

Lawyer Gaukhar Sariyeva, who represents the interests of the other minor defendants, refused to disclose details of the investigation, citing investigative secrecy. However, she confirmed her colleague's statements about possible pressure being put on the teenagers.

WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE INCIDENT

According to the investigation's version of events, on the day of the tragedy a conflict arose between the Alserov spouses, which escalated into a fight and ended in murder. Afterwards, the police officer's body was transported approximately 300 km from Almaty to a mountainous area, where it was doused with fuel and set on fire. The burnt remains were later discovered by a local shepherd.

The main suspect in the case is the deceased's wife, Aralym Alserova. Along with her, three minors are implicated in the case, who have been placed under house arrest as a preventive measure.

WHAT ELSE IS KNOWN ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION

It was previously reported that Aralym Alserova worked for the police, but resigned in February 2026.

There has also been information in the media suggesting that the deceased allegedly used domestic violence repeatedly, and that his wife had contacted law enforcement agencies on several occasions.

The investigation into the criminal case continues. Only a court can make a final determination on the guilt of the defendants.
